Lead Teacher – Early Childhood Education

Overview

GMPA is seeking a passionate, dependable Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and creating engaging learning environments that support academic, social, and emotional development. The Lead Teacher will guide daily classroom activities, foster a nurturing atmosphere, and collaborate with families and team members to help each child thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement daily lesson plans and developmentally appropriate classroom activities
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
  • Supervise children and support their development through play, exploration, and guided learning
  • Observe, document, and communicate children’s progress and developmental milestones
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-managed classroom
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, guardians, and team members

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • CDA credential or early childhood coursework preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of childcare or early childhood education experience
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to meet all state childcare licensing requirements
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
  • Genuine passion for working with young children

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $15.00 – $17.00, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives and additional benefits.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
