Children:

3-Year-Old Girl
She is affectionate, playful, and loves pretend play and outdoor adventures. She likes being included in whatever her brother is doing and responds well to energetic caregivers who can support positive sibling dynamics.

5-Year-Old Boy
He is imaginative, expressive, and drawn to building, creating, and hands-on exploration. He has high-functioning autism and thrives with predictable routines, gentle structure, and calm guidance during transitions.

About the Role:

This West U family is seeking a proactive nanny who can take full ownership of the afternoon and evening routine with confidence and independence. While the family collaborates closely and communicates well, you will be the primary decision maker during your shift and will guide the evening flow without needing direction.

You will plan engaging activities, support emotional and developmental needs, reinforce therapy strategies, guide transitions, and create a calm, structured environment. Teachers who enjoy hands-on engagement, meaningful connection, and child-led learning often thrive in this role. Autism experience or familiarity with developmental differences is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan engaging and developmentally appropriate activities
  • Support positive sibling play
  • Reinforce therapy strategies from ABA, ST, or OT
  • Provide steady guidance during transitions and emotional moments
  • Assist with bath time, bedtime, and evening routines
  • Tidy and reset children’s spaces and shared areas
  • Prepare simple dinners and snacks
  • Children’s laundry

Ideal Candidate:

You are a confident, thoughtful professional who enjoys the depth of connection that comes from individualized care. Your teaching background helps you recognize developmental needs, anticipate challenges, and create purposeful activities tailored to each child. You work well independently and feel comfortable guiding the evening without frequent check-ins.

You appreciate clear communication and collaboration when needed but do not require step-by-step instructions. You bring warmth, reliability, and steady emotional presence. Experience supporting autistic children or working in inclusive classrooms is required.

Requirements:

  • Five or more years of professional childcare or teaching experience
  • Comfort supporting children with structure, routines, and calm redirection
  • Independent, confident decision-making
  • Experience with autism or developmental differences
  • Comfort driving children
  • Punctual and reliable
  • COVID-19 vaccination

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Paid time off
