Haygood United Methodist Church is seeking a Preschool Teacher for one of our toddler classes, age 2-3.

The Teacher is responsible for supporting a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the room. We seek someone who understands children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. You must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children and effectively effectively communicate with parents.

Our goal is to provide learning experiences that are diverse, creative, age-appropriate, and carefully planned. We encourage development by providing an atmosphere that enables children to explore through curriculum, creativity and socialization.

Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through Brightwheel, discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, providing regular communication about their child's progress and development.
  • Participate in parent and teacher workshops, events, and community outreach programs to promote the school's mission and values.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching toddlers in a daycare or educational setting.
  • The ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Background Check and Health Screening

  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.

Hours

  • 5 days a week (Mon-Fri)
  • Shift needed: 9-5:30

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour
