Pricing Specialist

HOURS: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week
LOCATION: 100% Remote from most anywhere in the USA but must work east coast time zone hours
Qualified candidates must have experience in the Logistics, Supply Chain or Freight Forwarding industry.

The primarily focus of the role is on pricing new business opportunities and maintaining the profitability of existing accounts by continually reviewing market conditions and negotiating with ocean, air, and inland carriers accordingly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide pricing to existing and potential customers, sales and agents as requested with a maximum turn-around time of 24 hours for most requests.
  • Develop and maintain carrier relations to facilitate ease of communication regarding market conditions to obtain favorable pricing/procurement.
  • Negotiate bullet pricing for existing and potential business.
  • Maintain contract amendments and ensure the accuracy of contract rates in Catapult.
  • Maintain general knowledge of FMC regulations regarding rate filings and surcharge updates.
  • Cultivate and maintain broad knowledge of international market conditions with an emphasis on imports to the US.
  • Assist in resolving disputes for miss-rated invoices from the carriers.
  • Provide inside sales support to Sales team as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of the transportation industry with a focus on carrier contracts, pricing, and procurement for ocean imports/exports.
  • Experience with RFQ / RFP processes and quoting/pricing import/export shipments including profitability margins
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with clients, the sales team, and other teammates.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills with the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks accurately and on time
  • The ability to work in a face-paced environment.
  • Good negotiation skills
