Primary Care Medical Assistant with Clinic experience

Duties

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and verifying insurance information
  • Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately
  • Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit
  • Support clinical procedures including medication administration, wound care, X-ray processing, and basic life support when necessary
  • Maintain detailed documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including ICD coding and medical terminology entries
  • Conduct routine clinic tasks such as rooming patients, updating charts, and managing appointment schedules
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate inpatient and outpatient care across various specialties like dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, emergency medicine, and hospital medicine

Requirements

  • Proven clinic experience working as a Medical Assistant in outpatient settings with familiarity in Primary Care
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols
  • Experience with Prior Authorizations
  • Experience with EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient encounters and clinical data
  • Ability to perform intake assessments, vital sign collection, and assist with complex procedures in fast-paced setting
  • Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across diverse populations
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within medical-surgical units or outpatient clinics while maintaining attention to detail and compliance standards

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
