The Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher is responsible for creating a supportive, engaging, and safe classroom environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth in young learners. The teacher delivers instruction in core subjects (literacy, numeracy, science, and social studies), manages daily routines, and works closely with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure each child’s holistic development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate lessons in core subjects aligned with the school’s curriculum.
  • Create a warm, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that supports student well-being and learning.
  • Develop and implement differentiated instruction strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Establish and maintain positive classroom management practices to promote respectful and responsible behavior.
  • Assess, monitor, and document student progress through formal and informal methods.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student development, progress, and concerns.
  • Collaborate with grade-level team members and specialist teachers to provide a cohesive learning experience.
  • Integrate technology and hands-on learning activities to enhance student engagement.
  • Foster students’ social and emotional skills, encouraging empathy, cooperation, and independence.
  • Participate in school events, professional development, and extracurricular activities as required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification/license (depending on school/region requirements).
  • Prior experience teaching at the elementary/primary level (Grade 1 experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of child development and early literacy/numeracy instruction.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching young children.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From Rs25,000.00 per month
