Position Overview
The School Principal (Sobhay Jo Tarr) is the academic and administrative head of the institution, responsible for providing strategic leadership, ensuring academic excellence, and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations. The Principal leads all school departments, ensures compliance with educational standards, and fosters a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
A. Academic Leadership
- Develop, implement, and review the school’s academic vision and annual academic plan.
- Oversee curriculum design, lesson planning, and instructional practices.
- Monitor teaching quality through classroom observations and evaluations.
- Ensure proper assessment systems, examinations, and grading standards.
- Lead professional development initiatives and training sessions for teachers.
- Ensure integration of technology and innovative teaching methodologies.
- Support teachers in addressing learning gaps and maintaining student performance standards.
B. Administrative & Operational Management
- Manage day-to-day operations of the school efficiently and professionally.
- Oversee timetables, duty rosters, attendance, and school discipline systems.
- Ensure compliance with school policies, regulatory bodies, and accreditation standards.
- Supervise facility management, safety protocols, emergency preparedness, and maintenance.
- Approve procurement requests and ensure optimal use of school resources.
- Coordinate with admin, IT, HR, and accounts departments for smooth functioning.
C. Staff Leadership & Human Resources
- Lead academic and non-academic staff, ensuring accountability and productivity.
- Conduct performance appraisals, evaluations, and professional feedback sessions.
- Participate in recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of staff.
- Identify training needs and plan capacity-building sessions.
- Foster a positive work culture that encourages teamwork, initiative, and growth.
- Address staff conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary concerns as required.
D. Student Affairs & Pastoral Care
- Ensure holistic student development through academics, sports, co-curriculars, and values education.
- Handle student disciplinary issues with fairness and consistency.
- Oversee guidance counseling, career support, and emotional wellbeing initiatives.
- Ensure child protection policies and safeguarding standards are strictly followed.
- Promote attendance improvement, punctuality, and student behavior standards.
E. Parent, Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain transparent and effective communication with parents and guardians.
- Conduct parent-teacher meetings (PTMs), orientations, and school events.
- Address parent concerns professionally and promptly.
- Build partnerships with educational organizations, NGOs, and community stakeholders.
- Represent the school in external forums, conferences, and official visits.
F. Strategic Planning & School Development
- Contribute to the school’s long-term strategic growth plan.
- Implement new academic programs, co-curricular initiatives, and improvement frameworks.
- Analyze performance data to inform school development priorities.
- Identify opportunities for expansion, innovation, and school improvement.
- Ensure all initiatives align with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
G. Financial & Resource Management
- Prepare and manage the school’s annual budget in coordination with the finance team.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure transparency and compliance with financial policies.
- Allocate resources effectively for academic and operational needs.
- Oversee fee administration, scholarships, and welfare support where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or relevant field.
- Additional certifications in school leadership or administration preferred.
- Minimum 7–10 years of teaching experience and 3–5 years in a leadership role.
