Principal UX Designer
We’re looking for a comprehensive UX designer who is focused on creating broad, usable, and elegant experiences to supply a large-scale enterprise platform. The role will cover the spectrum of design, responsible for: performing user research and synthesizing client feedback, user journey mapping, concept design, wireframing, prototyping, user testing, accessibility, working with squads and coordinating with the business to realize visions. Operating in a fast-paced and exiting environment, an ideal candidate will manage multiple workstreams, engage stakeholders, and readily convert complex problems into elegant solutions. With this role, we aim to deliver exceptional value to our clients.
The team
This role supports FI’s institutional and retail businesses as well as internal users through a large-scale platform focused on trading and investing solutions. You will work with the business, SME’s, other UX designers, and agile squads to contribute experiences to an ever-growing suite of tools with the potential for expansion. As a team member, your efforts can improve the workflows of Fidelity clients, generating a direct impact on the firm’s revenue.
The expertise you have
An undergraduate or graduate degree is preferred, but we would also consider people with a certificate in user experience design. We believe excellent designers can come from many different subject areas.
Demonstrable experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams and managing stakeholders
An ability to mentor other designers and work across teams
Comprehensive design skillset: Experience at both ends of the design spectrum – high-level strategy to crafting visual design details
A demonstrated ability to design and build digital experiences
A digital portfolio we can review online is required.
Experience in financial services is preferred but not required.

You have a broad set of design skills, which might include visual and graphic design, information architecture, prototyping, front-end coding, strategic design methods (such as design thinking), user research, or writing.
You can get a little nerdy about at least one of the design skills above.
You are fluent in UX and other design software: Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.
You are familiar with design systems and how to use them.

Translating complex user feedback into comprehensive visions and developing an informed, long-term view of our client's needs
Generating high level, conceptual designs
Bringing business ideas to life, through sketching, wireframing, prototyping, testing, writing, and coding
Validating design visions with our users
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $71.43-$111.43 per hour.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
