Job Summary

To lead the operation, maintenance, and optimization of digital printing processes, ensuring efficient production, high-quality outputs, and minimal downtime while mentoring junior team members.

In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are:

1. Print Operations

• Operate a range of digital printing machines to produce high-quality outputs aligned with production specifications.
• Oversee and manage production schedules to meet deadlines efficiently.
• Ensure proper calibration and setup of print machines for each job.

2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting

• Perform routine preventative and reactive maintenance on digital printing machinery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with print equipment and software to minimize downtime.
• Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities and machine performance.

3. Software Utilization

• Utilize and manage production software, including AVA Design Software, Print Factory Software, Photoshop, and RIP software(s), to prepare and optimize print files.
• Ensure color consistency and accuracy by leveraging software tools and machine capabilities.

4. Team Leadership

• Train and mentor junior print technicians to improve their skills and ensure production quality.
• Supervise and guide team members to maintain workflow efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.

5. Quality Control

• Conduct inspections of printed materials to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Identify and rectify any defects or inconsistencies in prints.

6. Process Optimization

• Continuously evaluate printing workflows to improve productivity and reduce waste.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in printing technologies and recommend upgrades or new methodologies.

7. Inventory and Resource Management

• Monitor and manage inventory levels for printing supplies and materials.
• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure the availability of essential resources.

Role Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Printing Technology, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a print technician in a digital printing environment.
• Extensive knowledge of digital print machines, including their capabilities and maintenance requirements.
• Strong understanding of print production processes, color management, and quality assurance techniques.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
