Job Description:

We are currently seeking a PRN Pre-Op/PACU RN to join our team at our facility in Orange Park, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing nursing care to patients before and after surgical procedures. This includes assessing patients' conditions, monitoring vital signs, and administering medications as needed. The PRN Pre-Op/PACU RN will also collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth transition for patients from pre-op to post-op care.

Requirements:

Valid RN license in the state of Florida
Minimum of 1 years of experience in pre-op and PACU nursing
BLS and ACLS certification
Ability to efficiently initiate peripheral IVs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

Admits patients and prepare all chart documents prior to surgery
Assists with scheduling patients, makes preop phone calls and completes anesthesia questionnaires
Monitors patients' vital signs before and after surgery
Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure continuity of care
Educates patients and their families on post-operative care instructions
Observes for condition changes and communicating findings to surgeons or the appropriate care team members
Documents Pre-op, post-op vitals, labs, or point-of-care testing
Performs physical assessments and addressing patients’ pain and emotional needs
Ensures patient stability and readiness for discharge and performs discharge teaching
Recognizes signs of post-op complications or medical emergencies
Assess patients' pre-operative conditions and prepare them for surgery
Perform other duties within scope of practice as needed for to ensure the smooth execution of daily operations
