We are currently seeking a Process Designer 1 to join our Process Design and Fabrication team. This entry-level role offers the opportunity to grow your modeling skills while supporting impactful industrial projects. You’ll work alongside experienced designers and engineers to develop accurate 3D models and deliverables that drive our design-build and fabrication operations.

What You’ll Do

As a Process Designer 1, you’ll apply a foundational understanding of modeling concepts to create and support industrial process layouts.

    • Create accurate 3D models of process and mechanical systems (powder, liquid, gas conveyance).
    • Assist with fabrication and construction documents (spool drawings, P&IDs, composites, etc.).
    • Follow established modeling standards and contribute to continuous improvement.
    • Learn to generate formatted material takeoff (MTO) and quantity take-off (QTO) reports.
    • Identify potential conflicts, constructability issues, and value-engineering opportunities.
    • Support estimates for proposals, including technical query reviews and narratives.
    • Participate in review, vendor, and client meetings as required.
    • Conduct site visits to document existing conditions and support layout accuracy.
    • Perform field inspections and coordinate with external partners to ensure clash-free, constructable designs.

What We’re Looking For

Education:

    • Associate’s degree in a related field (required).
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).

Experience:

    • 0 – 3 years of piping-oriented modeling experience.

Skills & Tools:

    • Basic understanding of process piping systems.
    • Familiarity with AutoCAD & Bluebeam (preferred).
    • Proficiency with Windows-based applications.

Additional Details

  • Certifications & Requirements: Valid driver’s license, OSHA 10 Certification (required; training provided by Wayne Brothers).
  • Work Environment: Primarily office-based with occasional travel for site visits and meetings.
  • Physical Demands: Standard office tasks (sitting, reading, typing).
