We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Procurement Assistant Manager. This role involves coordinating with engineering, project management, production and logistics teams to align procurement activities with project timelines, cost targets, and technical specifications. This role also contributes to supplier evaluation, contract administration, and inventory management while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
Key responsibilities -
- Analyze purchasing trends, market conditions, and supplier performance to optimize costs and quality.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and service-level agreements under the guidance of the Procurement Manager.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or compliance.
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Review purchase requisitions and ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare purchase orders and coordinate approvals in accordance with internal procedures.
- Work closely with the Inventory and logistics teams to manage inventory levels.
- Assist in coordinating transportation, shipping, and delivery schedules.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Support the Procurement Manager in supervising and training junior staff.
- Collaborate with other departments (finance, receiving, production, electrical) to align purchasing needs.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field experience (Required)
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management
- 3-5 years of experience working with ERP systems (E.g, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)
- 3-5 years of management or team leadership experience
- Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience in manufacturing, logistics or industrial sectors
- Professional certifications (eg, CPM, CPSM, APICS) are a plus
