We are seeking a self-motivated and relationship-oriented, experiential learner global Procurement / Buyer apprentice to join our team. This role is a full-time permanent position with a rapidly growing dynamic company offering an excellent growth opportunity for individuals interested in supply chain and procurement operations and an eye toward managing the department. The apprentice will assist in developing purchasing plans, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring adherence to quality and compliance standards working in a dynamic and entrepreneurial team environment.

Position Summary: The Procurement - Buyer apprentice position is responsible for assisting in sourcing and purchasing raw materials, packaging, and related supplies to ensure uninterrupted production and compliance with food safety standards. This role focuses on maintaining cost efficiency, quality assurance, and timely delivery while adhering to regulatory requirements and company policies. The Procurement Buyer intern collaborates closely with suppliers, production teams, and quality assurance to support operational goals and optimize supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and develop purchasing plans, goals, and supplier development needs.
  • Global market knowledge by networking, trade talk and publications
  • Develop new relationships with suppliers both traditional and outside the norm. being forward thinking on developing new supply options
  • Coordinate and ensure adherence to supplier grades and quality standards (QFT).
  • Assist in negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align purchasing strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Prepare and present reports in both virtual and in-person meetings.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Competent in cold calling and developing new relationships with growers, packers and distributors.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to present effectively in video and physical meetings.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Education & Experience Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in all Microsoft suite and ability to adapt to new systems quickly.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
