About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer with a strong background in facility management projects and services. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in procurement, vendor management, and technical evaluation of FM-related equipment, systems, and services. An engineering background is essential for understanding project specifications, technical requirements, and ensuring the right procurement strategies are applied.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for facility management projects, including RFQs, bid evaluations, purchase order issuance, and delivery follow-up.
- Review and interpret engineering specifications, maintenance requirements, and project needs to ensure accurate procurement of equipment, materials, and outsourced services.
- Coordinate with operations, engineering, and project management teams to meet service-level agreements, budgets, and timelines.
- Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers/vendors for MEP systems, building services, utilities, and FM consumables.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and service contracts to secure best value and long-term vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, FM industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance, address non-conformances, and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain procurement records, supplier databases, and periodic reports for management review.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil or related field).
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of procurement experience within the facility management or construction services industry.
- Strong understanding of FM-related systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, elevators, utilities, and building automation).
- Proven experience in sourcing and managing FM-related equipment, spares, and outsourced services.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement platforms (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of international procurement practices and contracts is an advantage.
