Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Operations
- Review material requests, specifications, and engineering drawings to ensure clarity before initiating procurement.
- Prepare and issue RFQs, collect quotations, and conduct technical and commercial evaluations.
- Ensure timely sourcing of materials, equipment, and services as per project and operational requirements.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive prices, favorable terms, and high-quality deliverables.
- Track orders, expedite deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies related to materials or documentation.
2. Tendering & Contracting
- Assist in preparing tender documents, scope of work, and evaluation criteria.
- Conduct technical bid evaluations in coordination with engineering and end-users.
- Recommend technically compliant and commercially competitive suppliers for award.
- Support contract drafting, review, and finalization to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
3. Supplier Management
- Identify and prequalify suppliers based on technical capability, reliability, and performance.
- Maintain the approved vendor list and update supplier records regularly.
- Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and service levels.
- Conduct periodic supplier audits and provide recommendations for improvement.
4. Cost & Quality Optimization
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and alternative materials to support cost-saving initiatives.
- Recommend value-engineering solutions without compromising quality or performance.
- Ensure procured items meet required engineering specifications and project standards.
5. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, procedures, and audit requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, logs, and documentation for traceability.
- Prepare periodic procurement reports, including cost analysis, supplier performance, and delivery status.
Requirements:
- Qatar Driving License is required
- Strong knowledge of technical specifications, materials, and vendor management.
- Experience in tendering, contracting, and ERP procurement systems.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
- Professional procurement certifications such as CIPS or CPSM (preferred).
- 5 - 8 years of experience in procurement within engineering, construction, facilities management, or related industries.
