Role Overview
A Procurement Engineer responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality procurement of construction & finishing materials including FF & E, OS & E and services. The role requires strong technical understanding, vendor management skills, and the ability to coordinate with engineering, operations, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end to end procurement activities for engineering, technical, and project-related materials.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery timelines, and compliance.
- Prepare RFQs, analyze quotations, and conduct techno commercial evaluations.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and long-term supply agreements.
- Coordinate with engineering and project teams to understand material specifications and requirements.
- Maintain and update procurement records, supplier databases, and contract documentation.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and UAE regulatory standards.
- Track market trends, material cost fluctuations, and alternative sourcing opportunities.
- Support inventory planning and ensure timely availability of critical materials.
- Conduct site visits, supplier audits, and logistics coordination when required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).
- 7–8 years of procurement experience in manufacturing, construction, industrial, or engineering sectors.
- Strong understanding of technical specifications, drawings, and engineering materials.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and MS Office.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Fluency in Gujarati will be preferred.
- Valid UAE Driving License (mandatory).
- Strong analytical and cost evaluation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of UAE market suppliers and logistics is preferred.
