Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Procurement Engineer (Civil) with 4–5 years of UAE construction industry experience. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the procurement of construction materials, subcontractor packages, and services required for project execution while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality compliance, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs, and material requirements.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) to suppliers and subcontractors.
- Obtain, evaluate, and compare quotations based on technical and commercial requirements.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare comparison statements and procurement reports for management approval.
- Coordinate with project, estimation, and planning teams to ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Source and develop reliable suppliers and subcontractors within the UAE market.
- Monitor material delivery schedules and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Follow up on purchase orders, deliveries, and supplier performance.
- Ensure procured materials comply with project specifications, consultant requirements, and approved material submittals.
- Maintain procurement records, supplier databases, and purchase documentation.
- Coordinate with the accounts department regarding supplier invoices and payment processing.
- Support project teams in resolving material-related issues and procurement challenges.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 4–5 years of UAE experience in procurement within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, suppliers, and subcontractors in the UAE market.
- Experience in procurement of civil, structural, architectural, and finishing materials.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with ERP procurement systems is an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
- UAE Driving License preferred.
