Procurement manager:
Source and negotiate with vendors to procure quality products at competitive prices.
Manage inventory planning and ensure timely replenishment of fast-moving items.
Maintain strong vendor relationships and track purchase orders till delivery.
Coordinate with operations and sales teams to align purchases with business needs.

Key Responsibilities
1. Vendor Sourcing and Negotiation
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors for various product categories.
- Conduct market research to compare prices, quality, and delivery capabilities of potential vendors.
- Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve cost savings and maximize value for the company.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent supply and service quality.
2. Procurement Operations
- Manage the full procurement cycle, including requisition review, purchase order (PO) creation, approval, and follow-up.
- Track and monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues or delays.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, budgets, and ethical standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement transactions and vendor documents.
3. Inventory and Stock Management
- Plan inventory levels in coordination with the warehouse and operations teams to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Analyze consumption patterns and forecast future requirements for fast-moving items.
- Implement efficient replenishment strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Work with finance and logistics teams to streamline ordering, storage, and distribution processes.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with the Sales, Production, and Operations departments to align procurement plans with business needs.
- Support new product launches by ensuring the timely sourcing of required raw materials or packaging.
- Communicate effectively across departments to address supply-related challenges and ensure smooth operations.
5. Cost and Quality Control
- Ensure all purchased goods and services meet quality specifications and organizational standards.
- Monitor supplier performance through regular evaluation of price, delivery, and quality metrics.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement in the procurement cycle.
- Assist management in budgeting, cost forecasting, and supplier performance reviews.
6. Reporting and Compliance
- Prepare regular procurement reports on cost analysis, vendor performance, and purchase trends.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and internal audit requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and transparency in all procurement transactions.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- MBA or postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain or Operations Management preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in MS Excel, ERP systems, or procurement software.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
