Job Title: Procurement Manager

Job Summary:
The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the company’s end-to-end procurement process — from sourcing and vendor evaluation to contract negotiation and delivery follow-up. The role focuses on achieving cost efficiency, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring timely availability of materials, equipment, and services to support the organization’s operations and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Analyze organizational needs and forecast material and service requirements.
- Plan procurement schedules in coordination with production, maintenance, and project teams.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
2. Supplier Sourcing and Management
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify reliable suppliers and service providers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery timelines, and service agreements.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality and delivery.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs (quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness).
3. Purchasing Operations
- Manage the preparation and approval of purchase orders and contracts.
- Ensure all procurement transactions comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate logistics, customs, and delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier details, and pricing data.
4. Cost and Budget Management
- Develop and manage annual procurement budgets.
- Track expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Evaluate total cost of ownership and ensure value for money in all purchases.
5. Risk Management and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and ethical procurement standards.
- Assess and mitigate risks related to supplier performance or market volatility.
- Conduct due diligence on key vendors and maintain transparent procurement processes.
6. Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Supervise and guide the procurement team to meet departmental goals.
- Provide training, coaching, and support for team members’ professional development.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and project departments to align procurement strategies with company objectives.
7. Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare regular reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier KPIs.
- Analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Present procurement insights and recommendations to management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5–10 years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in Marine Procurement is appreciated and will be prirotized in the list
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Experience with ERP or procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics).
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
