Procurement Manager - Primoris Energy Services

Primoris is seeking a results-driven Manager of Procurement to lead sourcing, negotiations, and supplier performance for major projects in Texas. Must have pVault and Viewpoint experience. Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPP, PMP) is a plus. The Manager of Procurement is responsible for leading and managing procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services required for both indirect and direct operations. This role oversees the entire procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, order processing, contract administration, and supplier performance management. The Manager of Procurement will also drive strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize supply chain efficiency and support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with the organization’s business goals and operational needs.
  • Oversee procurement activities for Indirect Operations, including office supplies. Oversee procurement for Direct Operations, such as raw materials, construction materials, and services essential for fabrication, production, and construction.
  • Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management to ensure best value, quality, and service delivery.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to foster collaboration and performance improvements.
  • Monitor supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contracts, service-level agreements, and company expectations.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives, risk management strategies, and procurement policies to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to ensure procurement meets project and operational requirements.
  • Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for strategic sourcing and procurement optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop procurement team members to enhance departmental capabilities and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field; master’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the industrial construction or energy industry, with large-scale industrial construction projects.
  • Experience with supply chain software programs required e.g., SAP, JDE, Oracle. ViewPoint and pVault preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract negotiation, supplier management, and strategic sourcing.
  • Experience with ERP systems and procurement software.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance standards, and sustainable procurement practices.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPP, PMP) is a plus.
  • This role may require occasional travel to supplier sites, project locations, and regional offices.
