Job Summary:

The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services essential for the hospital's operations. This role involves vendor management, cost analysis, contract negotiation and ensuring timely delivery of materials while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies.
  • Source, evaluate and manage vendors and suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms and deadlines with suppliers.
  • Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to determine procurement needs.
  • Prepare procurement reports, maintain records of purchases, pricing and other relevant data.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and legal guidelines.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, timeliness, and service.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations and other departments to ensure smooth procurement operations.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the same role in healthcare settings (preferred).
