Key responsibilities
- Supplier sourcing and management: Identifying and vetting reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining good vendor relationships.
- Cost control and budget management: Establishing cost parameters, creating budgets, and analyzing options to reduce costs while meeting quality standards.
- Contract negotiation: Negotiating terms, pricing, and payment methods for purchases to secure the best value for the organization.
- Quality assurance: Ensuring that all purchased goods and services meet the organization's quality and compliance standards.
- Inventory and logistics: Monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Record keeping and reporting: Maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information, and creating reports on procurement activities.
- Risk management: Evaluating suppliers and ensuring purchases comply with all legal and industry standards to minimize risk.
- Strategic planning: Developing procurement strategies and analyzing market trends to make informed decisions about future purchases.
