Position: Procurement Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Develop & implement procurement strategies to optimize sourcing and supplier selection.
- Source suppliers & conduct evaluations, reviewing quality, pricing, reliability, and capacity.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing, ensuring terms are beneficial and protect organizational interests.
- Manage purchase orders & requisitions, ensuring accuracy and policy alignment.
- Monitor supplier performance to verify compliance with contracts and manage ongoing relations.
- Track inventory levels & forecast demand to prevent stock issues and reduce carrying costs.
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, vendor agreements, and procurement data.
- Analyze spending data & identify cost-saving opportunities, reporting KPIs to management.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on trends, new suppliers, and pricing shifts.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Typically a bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–3+ years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in procurement software (ERP), Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Negotiation & Contract Management: Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills.
- Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Able to assess options and make data-driven decisions.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal abilities for liaising with internal teams and vendors.
- Organizational Mindset & Attention to Detail: To ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Leadership: Potential to supervise procurement staff, depending on company size.
