The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the hospital’s purchasing activities, ensuring timely availability of medical and non-medical supplies, and maintaining cost control without compromising quality. The role supports all departments by securing reliable vendors and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle end to end procurement processes including requisitions, RFQs, purchase orders, and delivery follow up
  • Source and evaluate suppliers for medical equipment, consumables, and general supplies
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts with vendors
  • Maintain and update supplier database and approved vendor list
  • Ensure all purchases comply with hospital policies and Qatar regulations
  • Monitor stock levels in coordination with stores to prevent shortages or overstocking
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Review invoices and coordinate with finance for accurate payment processing
  • Support tendering processes and large scale procurement projects
  • Maintain proper documentation and audit ready records

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in healthcare, preferably in general hospital
  • Good understanding of medical supplies and equipment procurement
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Knowledge of Qatar market and local suppliers is an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
