Job Description

Department: Supply Chain & Procurement
Reports To: Head – SCM / Plant Head
Location: Solar PV Module Manufacturing Plant
Product Line: N-Type TOPCon 720 Wp Modules (M10/G12 cells)

1. ROLE PURPOSE
To ensure 100% material availability for uninterrupted production of TOPCon 720 Wp modules by planning, forecasting, and coordinating procurement based on factory capacity, BOM specifications, and customer orders. The role ensures cost-efficiency, timely supplier management, and alignment with the plant’s daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Production-Based Material Planning
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly Material Requirement Plans (MRP) based on production schedules.
  • Translate every order (720 Wp module) into BOM-based material quantities.
  • Maintain consumption norms for TOPCon components (glass, EPE, N-type TOPCon cells, encapsulants, ribbons, frames).
B. Procurement Coordination
  • Raise PRs/POs as per requirement, ensuring lead-time coverage.
  • Align procurements with supplier production cycles, import timelines, and logistics constraints.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC for incoming inspections.
C. Supplier & Lead-Time Management
  • Maintain supplier lead-time database for:
o N-type TOPCon cells
o Glass (2.0 mm)
o Backsheet/glass for bifacial
o EPE/EVA
o Junction boxes (overmolded)
o Ribbon & busbars
o Sealant & adhesives
  • Follow-up on shipment tracking, customs clearance, loading schedules.
D. Inventory Control
  • Maintain minimum, maximum, and safety stock levels (10–15 days recommended).
  • Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, and critical inventory.
  • Ensure real-time inventory accuracy via ERP.
E. Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Daily interaction with Production, Planning, Quality, Warehouse, and Finance.
  • Provide daily/weekly status on material availability to Plant Head/SCM Head.
F. Cost Management
  • Track commodity prices: glass, aluminum, EVA/EPE, junction boxes, and cells.
  • Support negotiations with cost benchmarks.
  • Ensure procurement within approved budget.
G. Documentation & Compliance
  • Ensure all materials meet UL/IEC certifications.
  • Maintain complete documentation as per ISO and internal audit requirements.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with sustainability and ESG norms.
3. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Engineering/Science graduate preferred
  • MBA in Supply Chain/Operations (optional but desirable)
