ob Summary

The Procurement Engineer/Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, equipment, and subcontract services required for construction projects. The role ensures timely delivery, cost control, quality compliance, and adherence to company procurement policies and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute procurement activities in line with project requirements and schedules
  • Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs for materials, equipment, and subcontract works
  • Evaluate vendor quotations technically and commercially
  • Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions
  • Prepare purchase orders and contracts in coordination with project and finance teams
  • Source and develop reliable suppliers and subcontractors
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and standards
  • Coordinate with site teams for material requirements and delivery schedules
  • Track purchase orders, deliveries, and resolve supply issues or delays
  • Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and cost reports
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contract terms, and statutory regulations
  • Support cost-saving initiatives and value engineering

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Supply Chain Management
  • 3–10 years of procurement experience in construction projects (residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure)
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and subcontracting
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred
  • Familiarity with contracts, BOQs, and project documentation

  • Good understanding of construction methods and materials
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities
  • Cost control and commercial awareness
  • Time management and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and procurement software
