Position Overview

NASA is seeking an entry-level Procurement Specialist 1 to provide contracting and procurement support at Stennis Space Center. This role will support agency contracting, purchase card management, training purchases, grants and agreements, and the SBIR/STTR programs. The ideal candidate has foundational knowledge of procurement principles and is eager to build expertise in federal contracting and acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Assist in soliciting, evaluating, negotiating, and preparing contracts for award.

• Support the administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations.

• Analyze and evaluate cost and price proposals under supervision.

• Apply procurement processes and procedures to technical assignments.

• Perform data entry and reporting in procurement systems.

• Provide support in procurement and administrative services including purchase card, training purchases, and grants/agreements.

• Contribute to SBIR/STTR program operations and documentation.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in procurement, contracting, or acquisition-related work.

• Foundational understanding of federal procurement regulations, practices, and principles.

• Basic skills in using procurement and administrative systems.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid remote position with work split between remote support and onsite duties at NASA Stennis Space Center, MS. This opportunity allows entry-level professionals to develop procurement expertise while supporting NASA’s mission to advance space exploration and innovation.
