Job Title: Procurement Officer

Department: Administration / Finance
Location: Saudi Arabia
Reporting To: Country Manager / Regional Procurement & Finance Head

Position Overview:

The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, services, and equipment required for Compass Ocean Logistics’ operations in Saudi Arabia. The role ensures cost-effectiveness, supplier reliability, and adherence to the company’s procurement policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Planning & Sourcing

  • Identify suppliers, obtain quotations, and evaluate offers for quality, price, and delivery.
  • Maintain a supplier database and establish long-term vendor relationships.
  • Ensure that procurement needs are fulfilled promptly while maintaining budget control.

2. Purchasing Operations

  • Prepare purchase requests, purchase orders, and contracts.
  • Ensure proper approvals and documentation in line with company policy.
  • Follow up with vendors on order status, delivery timelines, and service quality.

3. Cost & Quality Control

  • Conduct price comparisons and cost analysis to ensure competitive procurement.
  • Verify invoices and coordinate with finance for payments.
  • Monitor and report procurement KPIs, including savings, lead times, and supplier performance.

4. Compliance & Coordination

  • Ensure procurement aligns with local laws, customs regulations, and Compass policies.
  • Support warehouse and operations teams with equipment and material requirements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for audits.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in logistics, shipping, or freight forwarding.
  • Solid negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with import/export and customs documentation is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is preferred.
