Product Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Preparing detailed design ensuring:

• Fit and Function

• Child Safety Requirements & Regulations

• Material Selection

• Manufacturing

• Assembly

• DFM, DFA & DFMEA

• Deco painting and printing

• Texture and Tooling Feasibility

• Wall thickness and weight optimization

• Rib Designs and Strength optimization

• Snaps and Bolting joints design

• Ultra Sonic Welding feature design

• Electronic functions design

• Sink marks & moulding defects analysis

• Tooling Ready CAD preparation

• Final Prototype building

• Play value Validation and Testing

Preparing Technical Specifications including,

• GD & T drawings with CTQ, CTF and CTA features

• Product Specs, CMF and BOM

• Test Plan and Compliance Documentation

• Tool Plan

• Packaging Design and Shelf Space Optimization

• Product Cost Optimization

Product Development:

Take ownership to convert creative concepts into tangible toys by interpreting designs, creating prototypes, and defining

technical specifications.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work with design, marketing, production, and sales teams to align on product goals, features, and timelines.

Manufacturing Oversight:

Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes, such as plastics, assembly, and molding, to ensure products are robust and

scalable.

Quality & Safety:

Champion product testing and validation to ensure all toys meet international safety standards and quality benchmarks.

Innovation & Problem-Solving:

Drive innovation in toy mechanisms and electro-mechanical systems and proactively identify and resolve technical

challenges.

Mentorship:

Guide and develop junior engineers, setting technical direction and strengthening the team's expertise.

Key Skills & Qualifications

Educational Background:

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Plastics engineering, Tool & Die making, mechanical engineering, product design, or a

related field.

Technical Expertise:

Proficient in areas like 3D CAD modelling on NX, Creo or SolidWorks software, prototyping, and understanding materials,

assembly techniques, and electronics integration.

Safety & Compliance:

Deep knowledge of global safety standards and certifications for children's products.

Communication:

Strong written and verbal English communication skills for presenting to stakeholders.

Industry Experience:

5-6 years’ Experience in product design of Toys, Automotive or Consumer products etc. including familiarity with

manufacturing processes and supply chains.

Problem-Solving:

Strong analytical and strategic decision-making skills to anticipate risks and find creative solutions to technical issues.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
