Product Designer

Ideal Partners Staffing is seeking a skilled Product Designer to join a growing engineering and design team. This is a hands-on, direct-hire opportunity with a company that values innovation, precision, and collaboration. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in equipment design and drafting and advanced proficiency in SolidWorks to create high-quality, manufacturable products. You’ll work closely with engineers and fabrication teams to turn ideas into production-ready designs that perform and look exceptional.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet performance, cost, and quality goals.
• Prepare and maintain accurate design documentation, including part lists, specifications, and revision control.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to product improvement and innovation.
• Support prototype development and testing, incorporating design changes as needed.
• Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in equipment design and drafting (industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing environment preferred).
• SolidWorks proficiency required.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, fabrication methods, and materials.
• Ability to interpret and produce detailed technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Highly organized, self-driven, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial Design, or related field) preferred but not required.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with sheet metal, weldments, or heavy equipment design.
• Familiarity with PDM systems and manufacturing workflows.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and dimensioning best practices.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and understanding of real-world fabrication constraints.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
