Summary

Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President, Product Development Director will lead and manage the end-to-end seasonal and home décor development process. This individual will act as the primary liaison between internal teams, global vendors (primarily Asia), and key customers, ensuring alignment in product direction and execution. This role requires a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments, and has proven record of building scalable demand programs.

This role requires a strategic thinker with strong trend awareness (colors, fonts, micro & macro trends), strong program-building skills. The successful candidate is both creative and commercially aware, understands product costs, materials, construction and is organized enough to lead trade shows, showrooms, and customer meetings across multiple markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the position:

  • Lead seasonal research across global and regional markets, identifying key trends in color, font, graphic direction, and general merchandise styling.
  • Translate insights into actionable seasonal briefs and development strategies for suppliers.
  • Deliver trend presentations and concept direction to both internal teams and external partners.
  • Build, organize, and present seasonal product programs to vendors and client teams.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure designs meet product, cost, and delivery goals.
  • Partner with vendors to review designs and align execution plans.
  • Lead presentations and product reviews with customers
  • Lead planning and execution of trade shows, seasonal showroom set-ups, and trend presentation meetings.
  • Prepare curated assortments and sales tools aligned with seasonal strategy.
  • Travel to support customer engagement and vendor meetings (domestic and international).
  • Work closely with design, merchandising, and buying teams to ensure product alignment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on timelines, assortment curation, and strategy.
  • Support documentation and internal tracking to ensure project visibility and accountability.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience / Education needed to perform the job successfully:

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in product development, merchandising, or related field (with a focus on seasonal general merchandise, home, gift, or lifestyle categories preferred).
  • Proven experience in trend forecasting, visual storytelling, and program development.
  • Strong understanding of product costing and factory processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills — both visually and verbally.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be confident in presenting to senior client teams and working in a customer-facing capacity.
  • Experience supporting showroom organization, tradeshows, and seasonal assortment set-ups.
  • Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and PLM tools (experience with line sheets, costing templates, trend boards, etc.).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
