Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to coordinate the daily operations of our packaging laboratory and woodworking prototype shop. As a Product Development Lab Coordinator, you will coordinate the daily operations of our packaging laboratory and wood working prototype shop. This role involves coordinating day-to-day activities, collaborating closely with internal and external material suppliers, as well as management and stakeholders, to continually improve the technical execution of world-class design/development lab.
Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory & Shop Management
- Ensure optimal utilization of equipment and workspace across both the Packaging Lab design lab and prototype shop.
- Oversee facility maintenance, safety protocols, and cleanliness standards
- Manage equipment calibration schedules and coordinate repairs as needed
- Collaborate with internal cross functional team and external customers to understand project requirements, objectives, and deliverables and implement into the lab schedule.
- Assist Lab Manager with quoting testing projects as well as closing the loop with Accounts Receivable once projects are complete.
Materials & Inventory Management
- Plan and execute material procurement for both laboratory and shop operations
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and implement reorder procedures
- Coordinate with external partners, suppliers, and vendors to source materials, components, and services necessary for product/ packaging development, and ensure timely delivery of packaging materials.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and take proactive measures to keep projects on track.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as primary liaison between laboratory/shop operations and internal teams
- Communicate project timelines, resource availability, material inventory roadblocks to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
- Support project teams by ensuring resources are available when needed
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of activities, schedules, and resource utilization
- Track project progress and resource consumption
