Job Description

Perform IC Engine calibration activities for meeting the specified performance and emission requirements.

Selection and matching of appropriate engine sub-systems such as turbocharger, power cylinder components, fuel systems, etc.

To analyze engine performance test data and make necessary design change decisions.

To coordinate engine performance testing with cross-functional team including making parts available, test cell readiness, decisions on sensors / data logging, etc.

Execute type approval / certification testing by being stationed at external test agencies / certification agencies.

Perform analytical calculations / verifications of engine performance.

To generate technical reports and maintain technical documentation.

Integration of Exhaust Aftertreatment system with Engine.

Knowledge of Emission test cycles (WHTC, WHSC,WNTE)

Detect and resolve OBD Electric Faults, Components Monitoring, SCR Calibration.
Skills and Experience Requirements

Qualification - MTech or B.E. Mechanical or Associated Branches (MTech Preferred)

Experience Range - 2 to 6 Years

Sound understanding of IC engine product, specifically diesel engines.

Good knowhow of principles of thermodynamics, heat, and energy transfers for making good engine performance calibration development to meet emission norms and performance requirements.

Exposure to engine calibration activities necessary.

Understanding of engine High Pressure Common Rail (HPCR) fuel system and functioning of Turbocharger and power cylinder components.

Problem solving abilities.

Should have MATLAB skills. Should be proficient in MS-office tools.

Good communication and presentation skills.

Position expects willingness to travel greater than 50% of time to various test agency and being stationed at Test Agency for monitoring / executing test plan to achieve desired results efficiently.
