The Product Innovation Engineer is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing new products or enhancing existing ones to meet customer needs and market demands. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including R&D, design, marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure the successful implementation of innovative solutions. The engineer is expected to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Essential Functions

Product Development

• Lead the ideation, design, and development of new products or product features from concept to launch
• Conduct market research and gather customer insights to identify opportunities for innovation
• Utilize CAD software and other engineering tools to create detailed product designs and prototypes
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and optimize production processes

Innovation and Research

• Explore and integrate new technologies, materials, and processes to enhance product performance and customer experience
• Collaborate with R&D teams to experiment with new ideas, conduct testing, and refine product concepts
• Analyze industry trends and competitive products to inform the innovation strategy

Project Management

• Manage product innovation projects, including setting timelines, budgets, and milestones
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress and challenges

Quality Assurance

• Ensure all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements
• Participate in testing and validation processes to verify product performance and reliability
• Identify and address potential risks in the design and development stages

Customer Focus

• Engage with customers to understand their needs, preferences, and pain points
• Translate customer feedback into actionable product improvements and innovations
• Support the marketing and sales teams in communicating product benefits and features to customers
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.

Education Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Innovation Management, or a related field is required

Experience Qualifications

• Experience with rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and other advanced manufacturing technologies is preferred

Skills and Abilities

• Proven experience in product development and innovation, preferably in a related industry
• Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative mindset
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid driver's license is required

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

• Ability to pass a drug test
