Job Description


Key Objectives:

The Product Manager is responsible for driving the end-to-end lifecycle of Samsung’s smartphone portfolio from strategic planning through execution to post-launch performance. This role combines analytical thinking, market insight, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure products deliver competitive advantage, customer satisfaction, and sustainable business growth.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Product Strategy & Planning

  • Define and implement the product strategy, roadmap, and positioning across consumer segments in line with Samsung’s global and regional objectives.
  • Conduct ongoing market research, consumer insight analysis, and competitive benchmarking to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Align product planning with sales forecasts, marketing initiatives, and channel requirements.
  • Develop pricing and promotion strategies to maximize profitability and market share.

2. Product Lifecycle Management

  • Manage the complete product lifecycle from pre-launch preparation, launch execution, to end-of-life transition.
  • Monitor and analyze key metrics such as sell-in, sell-out, inventory (WOS), and margin performance.
  • Lead go-to-market (GTM) execution, including product positioning, bundling, and channel enablement in collaboration with Marketing and Sales.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and alignment with Supply Chain to maintain optimal stock levels.

3. Market & Customer Insights

  • Analyze consumer behavior and purchase patterns to guide product decisions and feature prioritization.
  • Evaluate competitor products, pricing, and promotions to maintain Samsung’s leadership position.
  • Utilize data insights and feedback from retail partners to improve product performance and customer satisfaction.

4. Cross-Functional & Partner Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless execution of product strategies.
  • Partner with Cheil and other stakeholders for campaign planning, messaging, and performance tracking.
  • Coordinate with HQ and RHQ for approvals, reporting, and alignment on global initiatives.

5. Financial & Operational Management

  • Own product P&L, ensuring profitability through effective pricing, volume, and cost control.
  • Prepare reports and business cases summarizing performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support budget planning and promotional fund allocation based on business needs.

Essential skills and experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably within the smartphone or consumer electronics industry.
  • Proven record of managing product portfolios and go-to-market execution in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong analytical and commercial mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with strong storytelling through data.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience working within matrix organizations and cross-functional teams.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • MBA or postgraduate qualification preferred.
  • Familiarity with mobile technologies, AI integration, 5G, and consumer ecosystem trends.
