The Position

Reporting to the Manager Integrated Machines System (IMS), this role will see you join a small close-knit team within our Technical Service & Support Division of Hexagon Mining. Your role will see you provide customers with ongoing and proactive technical support for our clients underground and surface mining operational technology.

Due to recent successful acquisition of a new product line, we are seeking those who specialise or skilled in network configuration/Communications.

This role is Perth CBD based with ad hoc site FIFO travel (35% in calendar year) As a Systems Specialist your duties will include the following, not limited to;

Responsibilities

• Technical: Assist in product & service implementation, through support on installation/decommissioning or testing activities.
• Technical: Provide ongoing technical support & troubleshooting solutions to our customer challenges, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement/modifications through the lifecycle of a product.
• Technical: Partner with engineering and development teams to scope, test, and launch new products and features for our customers mine operational needs
• Operational: Monitor system reporting on customers operations, providing weekly reports.
• Operational: Performing quality assurance and control measures during the logistics period.
• Operational: Maintain, enhance, and adhere to Hexagon and client documentation and reporting standards, systems, processes, policies, and procedures, participating in audits when required.
• Customer Service: Act as a first point of contact to deliver investigations and diagnosis to provide optimal solutions
• Customer Service: Facilitate ongoing competency training and value education to customers on our technology suite.
• Customer Service: Case Management support: Act as a focal point across the service level agreement and to guide solutions, manage resolutions, discuss additional product integrations to optimise production.

About you

We are looking for an individual who can bring their knowledge of mining operations, passion for technical problem solving, and ability to build collaborative customer relationships to our team as we continue with a busy 2025!

This is an Entry level position that will offer an in-depth training program, so if you are an early career network technician or early career Communications technician seeking a new change or a Field Tech/technical product support with wishing to build a career in taking your mining experience into the world of technology with a passion for customer engagement - this could be the move for you!

Required

• Intermediate skills across Microsoft applications
• Intermediate skills/knowledge working with technology applications, operating systems
• Ability to build strong relations across diverse stakeholder group, internally and externally
• Able to be adaptable and agile in changing environments
• Comfortable entering confined spaces, working in hot temperatures
• A strong commitment to prioritizing safety and proactively contributing to a driving safety culture
• Car (C class) unrestricted (manual) driver's licence
• Australia Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Valid Police Clearance or ability to gain such clearance for UG client sites

Desirable, not essential

• Prior Experience in Underground Mining, ideally within mining equipment technology
• Background in Network/communications would be highly desirable
• High School Diploma/ Certificate IV in Information Technology or related field
• First aid certificate - (desirable)
• Prior experience facilitating training sessions
• Ability to be customer focused and solution driven
