Production Artist for Apparel & Headwear

Position Summary:

The Production Artist (Production / Mock-Ups) is responsible for creating clean, accurate, production-ready artwork and on-product mock-ups for headwear and apparel programs. This role focuses on manufacturable vector art, factory-ready file preparation, and fast-turn client proofs that move efficiently from concept to sampling to production. This is a hands-on production design role.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert, adjust, and optimize client-provided artwork to meet production standards
• Prepare clean, accurate, production-ready files for embroidery, screen print, and heat transfer applications
• Troubleshoot file and production issues proactively
• Review and proof all artwork carefully before it moves into production
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
• Create and maintain production templates to improve efficiency and consistency
• Collaborate with Sales, Product Development, and external vendors to support custom team and corporate programs
• Ensure artwork translates accurately from screen to finished physical product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Communications, Graphic Arts, or equivalent professional experience
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat)
• Solid understanding of apparel decoration methods (embroidery, screen printing, heat transfers)
• Experience in a production-driven or print-focused environment
• Exceptional attention to detail and file organization skills
• Strong typography, layout, color, and composition instincts
• Ability to manage multiple projects without sacrificing accuracy
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive, self-starter mindset
• Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced startup environment

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary $45,000 - $55,000 based on experience
