Production Assistant

Description
The rock plant assistant performs duties such as shoveling, general labor, operating light-duty equipment, and
maintaining the plant's cleanliness. They also assist the plant operator and foreman in performing both scheduled
and spot repairs and maintenance.

Essential Functions of the Position:

• Shoveling and sweeping to clear pathways and moving parts to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Operate and maintain light-duty equipment- tractor, man-lift, and forklift.
• Following verbal and written instructions from supervisors.
• Performing strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
• Reliability shows up in a timely manner and performs.
• Attention to detail highlights the ability to focus on the task at hand.
• Safety Consciousness awareness of safety protocols.
• Adaptability, being able to learn new tasks.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and to perform duties with minimal supervision.
• Need stamina and strength to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods of time.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Must have the ability to work in a team environment.
• Must be able to follow instructions and work toward being a self-starter.
• Strong Work ethic to meet deadlines and perform quality work.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to recognize and communicate hazards immediately.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid Class C driver’s license.
• Must be able to work extended shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions and to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work with supervision, receiving instructions/feedback, coaching/counseling and/or

action/discipline.

• This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel toed shoes.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions consistent with extreme ambient temperatures; heat,

• Must pass a drug screen, physical, and respirator test.
• Ability to take long walks through unfinished grade with loose and moist soil
• Ability to kneel, lift, reach, or shovel up to 25 pounds.
• The physical and mental capacity of an individual to consistently perform their job duties for an 8+ hours

per day.

• Must be able to climb on and off equipment to operate and service.
• Must have good hand/eye coordination and be able to operate hand/foot controls.
