Position Summary:
We understand the power of purposeful design. We’re looking for a talented, collaborative, and curious production designer who can strategically communicate through the visual language of design.
At Bold Orange, the production designer is a highly regarded and critical role within the creative team. This role ensures accuracy, as well as maintains a high standard for design excellence. The ideal candidate must possess both creative and technical skills, be extremely organized, and pay close attention to the tiniest of details, as this position will require versioning content, assets, and multiple formats within an established design direction.
The production designer is responsible for layout, design, formatting and preparation of production-ready files for all channels and mediums, both digital and print. This role must maintain brand standards and ensure all project assets are accurately formatted, collected, and packaged for front end development or print production. This position requires experience creating and working with templates in various channels including email, direct mail, web banners, social, print, signage, out-of-home, etc. This person works closely with the entire creative team, project management and account team from kickoff through execution to create strong, cohesive projects.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with art directors, copywriters, designers, and developers
  • Prepare clean, final production-ready files for both print and digital
  • Make various formats of supplied artwork production-ready and resolve any artwork issues that arise during production
  • Catalog and reference art for future projects
  • Follow a production timeline to ensure tasks are being completed efficiently and on time
  • Troubleshoot problems as they arise
  • Check work for accuracy
Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts, design, visual communications, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of creative agency experience
  • Knowledge and proficiency in all creative application software and technologies including Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, Sketch, InDesign, InVision, Acrobat, and PowerPoint
  • Strong typographic and layout skills with an eye for design.
  • Outstanding organizational, project management, file-organization, and archiving skills are a must
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong attention to detail and takes pride in their work
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and can balance multiple assignments while meeting deadlines
  • Cross-channel expertise, including website, email, print and social
  • Understanding of design principles in typography, color, imagery
  • Understanding of ADA compliance regulations
  • Understanding of how to design with variable content, versioning, live assets vs images, and responsive design
  • Ability to create and maintain working templates
  • A strong work ethic that is curious by nature, courageous at heart
  • Collaborative both in ideation and in receiving feedback
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Enjoys working in a fun, fast-paced environment

Compensation:
We benchmark salaries across industry standards and local markets to ensure we offer competitive, fair compensation. Final offers reflect a candidate’s skills, experience, and location.
The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 in the Twin Cities market.
