The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Associate Visual Designer to join our Strategic Marketing Solutions team. The Associate Visual Designer supports the development and production of high-quality visual assets across print, digital, and environmental platforms. Working under the guidance of Senior Visual Designers and the design leadership team, this role executes design concepts, prepares production-ready files, and contributes to cohesive brand experiences across the Museum.

This position offers meaningful hands-on experience and the opportunity to grow within a dynamic creative team.

What You’ll Do

• Execute design projects across digital, print, and environmental formats

• Apply established brand standards to ensure visual consistency

• Prepare production-ready files for print and digital distribution

• Assist with mock-ups, layouts, and installation graphics

• Support coordination with vendors and fabricators

• Collaborate with Marketing, Curatorial, Education, and Development teams

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 1–3 years of professional design experience or relevant internships

• Strong portfolio demonstrating typography, layout, and visual communication skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment
