The
Production Controller
will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating production activities within our aluminum (or kitchen) fabrication plant. This role involves monitoring production processes, tracking progress against production schedules, and ensuring efficient utilization of resources. The Production Controller plays a crucial role in optimizing production efficiency and meeting production targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management, scheduling, and resource planning within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Monitoring:

Monitor production activities to ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.

Track production progress against planned targets and identify any deviations or bottlenecks.

Communicate with production teams to address issues and ensure smooth operations.

Implement lean manufacturing techniques to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance to avoid production downtime.

Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure production orders are completed and documented correctly.

Oversee and manage the stock in the Work in Process (WIP) area.
Production Scheduling:

Assist in the development and maintenance of production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.

Coordinate with production supervisors to allocate resources and prioritize production tasks.

Adjust production schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand or resource availability.
Target Achievement:

Monitor production progress to ensure targets are met.

Implement strategies to improve production efficiency and achieve set goals.

Regularly review performance metrics and take action to address any shortfalls.
Resource Coordination:

Coordinate with procurement, inventory, and maintenance departments to ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, and manpower for production activities.

Ensure that all resources are used effectively and efficiently.

Optimize resource utilization to maximize production efficiency and minimize downtime.

Monitor and manage production-related costs to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
Data Analysis and Reporting:

Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Prepare and present reports on production performance, including key metrics such as cycle time, productivity, and yield.

Use data-driven insights to make recommendations for process improvements and optimization.
Safety and Compliance:

Ensure that all production activities comply with health and safety regulations.

Continuous Improvement:

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production control, scheduling, or operations management within a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in production management software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
