Production Engineer

Position: Production Engineer –VMC & Fabrication

Reporting To: Production Manager / Plant Head

Role Summary

The Production Engineer – VMC & Fabrication is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing VMC machining and fabrication operations to achieve production targets while ensuring quality, safety, and cost efficiency.

Key ResponsibilitiesVMC Machining Operations

• Plan and control daily production activities for VMC/CNC machines
• Ensure machines are operated as per process plans and work instructions
• Coordinate with programmers for NC program optimization
• Reduce cycle time, improve productivity, and minimize machine downtime
• Ensure proper tool selection, tool life monitoring, and fixture usage

Fabrication Operations

• Manage fabrication processes including cutting, bending, welding, and assembly
• Ensure fabrication work meets drawing and quality requirements
• Coordinate with welding and fabrication teams for smooth workflow
• Monitor material utilization and minimize scrap

Production Planning & Control

• Prepare and execute production plans and schedules
• Ensure on-time delivery as per customer commitments
• Coordinate with stores for material availability
• Maintain production reports and daily output records

Quality & Process Control

• Ensure adherence to engineering drawings, GD&T, and SOPs
• Coordinate with Quality team for FAI, in-process, and final inspection
• Implement corrective actions to reduce rejection and rework
• Support continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, Lean)

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure safe working practices on shop floor
• Enforce 5S, PPE usage, and safety guidelines
• Ensure compliance with ISO / customer standards

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of VMC machining and fabrication processes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Basic knowledge of CNC programming (Fanuc / Siemens – preferred)
• Familiarity with production planning and shop-floor management
• Problem-solving and team coordination skills

Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production Engineering
• 2–6 years of experience in VMC machining and fabrication production

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹23,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
