The Production Floor Incharge will oversee and manage day-to-day manufacturing operations of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear assemblies. This role involves leading the production team, ensuring adherence to design and quality standards, optimizing workflows, and maintaining smooth coordination between production, design, procurement, and QA/QC departments. The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge of switchgear assembly, busbar fabrication, panel wiring, and overall production supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage daily operations on the switchgear production floor (LV/MV).
- Plan and allocate manpower, tools, and materials to meet production schedules.
- Ensure compliance with project drawings, wiring diagrams, and panel design specifications.
- Monitor assembly, wiring, busbar work, and final inspection stages to ensure quality standards.
- Coordinate closely with the Design, Procurement, and QA/QC teams to resolve technical or material-related issues.
- Maintain discipline, productivity, and safety standards on the production floor.
- Review work progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements.
- Train and guide technicians and fitters for efficient and safe work practices.
- Ensure proper documentation of production activities, job cards, and material usage.
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and coordinate with the testing team for panel verification.
- Report production status, material shortages, and manpower requirements to management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- 8–12 years of hands-on experience in switchgear manufacturing (LV/MV panels, MDBs, SMDBs, MCCs, Synchronizing Panels, etc.).
- Strong understanding of electrical drawings, single line diagrams (SLDs), control schematics, and wiring layouts.
- Experience in managing shop floor teams and handling fabrication, assembly, and wiring operations.
- Knowledge of IEC standards, safety practices, and quality control procedures.
