The Production In-Charge – Injection Moulding will be responsible for managing injection moulding operations, including production planning, preventive and corrective maintenance, BOM (Bill of Materials) creation and compliance, ERP data entry, and wastage control. The role requires strong technical knowledge, planning skills, and leadership to ensure optimal productivity, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

• Supervise and manage daily injection moulding production activities to meet output and quality targets.

• Ensure proper mould setup, parameter control, and machine utilization.

• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to resolve quality deviations.

• Maintain detailed production logs and reports.

BOM Management & ERP Control

• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all injection moulded products.

• Monitor compliance with BOMs during production to prevent unauthorized material substitution.

• Ensure accurate entry of BOMs, production data, and material consumption into the ERP system.

• Reconcile ERP records with actual production and inventory usage.

Wastage Calculation & Control

• Track raw material consumption against production outputs to calculate wastage.

• Identify sources of material losses (scrap, rejections, machine purging, trimming, etc.).

• Develop and implement strategies to reduce waste and improve material yield.

• Present periodic waste analysis reports with corrective actions.

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

• Develop preventive maintenance schedules for injection moulding machines, moulds, and auxiliary equipment.

• Coordinate breakdown maintenance and ensure minimum downtime.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and maintenance history records.

Planning & Scheduling

• Prepare weekly/monthly production schedules in line with demand forecasts and customer orders.

• Manage machine allocation, mould changes, and manpower scheduling for optimal efficiency.

• Track adherence to production plans and adjust in case of deviations.

Team Leadership

• Lead a team of operators, technicians, and helpers to ensure smooth shop-floor operations.

• Train team members on SOPs, GMP compliance, and ERP reporting.

• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement

• Introduce Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen practices to reduce downtime, waste, and inefficiencies.

• Implement corrective and preventive actions based on production data analysis.

• Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and GMP standards (for medical device manufacturing).

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Polymer, or Industrial Engineering.

• 10+ years of experience in injection moulding production, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.

• Strong knowledge of polymer processing (PVC, PP, ABS, etc.).

• Experience in ERP/MRP systems (Odoo, SAP, or Oracle preferred).

• Exposure to medical device regulatory requirements (ISO 13485, GMP) will be an advantage.
