Position Summary:
This Senior Leader position involves managing the company’s resources to improve productivity and minimize downtime while increasing profits and reducing costs. It consists of meeting goals, creating workflow policies and procedures, creating schedules, and encouraging staff to put their best foot forward at all times so that the entire operation functions efficiently.
Essential Functions:
Develops and implements policies and procedures for various production activities, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposing of materials, and maintaining a current inventory.
Performs inspections of the physical condition of production equipment. Prepares work orders for repairs or requisitions for replacement of equipment.
Collaborates with department heads to coordinate operational activities with other functions, including production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
A manager must follow and maintain all Quality Assurance, HACCP, SQF requirements, and Occupational Health and safety regulations and ensure all employees in their department follow them.
Completed all required training (e.g., Leadership, Equipment, and Operational), ensured employees’ adherence to company practices and procedures, and applied corrective action when needed.
Conducts interviews, hires, trains, and retains staff. Conducts performance monitoring (e.g., Probationary, Annual Evaluation, and Performance Objectives) of staff, initiates follow-through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department.
Mentors motivate and develop staff and act as their role models and resources.
Develops the department's capital and operational budget. Routinely monitors, manages, and controls the budget, analyzes variances, takes appropriate action, and develops plans for productivity improvements.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to work effectively with others and build and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships.
Must have good written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
Must have good time management and organizational skills.
Must have a good understanding of USDA regulations. (US only)
Ability to solve business problems and interpret various instructions furnished in written verbal, diagram, or schedule formats.
Employees in all leadership positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals, such as bells, alarms, and horns, that warn them of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
Must be able to prepare and deliver reports, business correspondence, and presentations and speak at minor functions as a departmental representative.
Must multitask, prioritize, and work independently or within a team environment.
Must be able to develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity and reference policies and practices for guidance.
Knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, presentation, email, and internet software applications.
