Position Summary:
The Risk Management and Compliance Manager serves as a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing comprehensive operational functions while ensuring regulatory compliance across all business activities. This position combines strategic operational oversight with hands-on management of compliance initiatives, audit functions, and commercial property operations. The Manager will lead cross-functional teams, manage complex operational processes, and maintain the highest standards of legal and regulatory compliance within the real estate and property management industry. This role requires a dynamic leader with exceptional organizational skills, deep industry knowledge, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments while driving operational excellence.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Compliance and Legal Oversight

Track and monitor all incoming legal documentation

Coordinate with legal counsel on litigation matters, contracts, and regulatory issues

Maintain compliance documentation and ensure audit readiness

Oversee regulatory reporting requirements and filing deadlines
Insurance and Risk Management

Oversee comprehensive insurance tracking and management programs

Coordinate with insurance carriers, brokers, and risk management consultants
Audit Department Supervision

Direct and manage internal audit department

Develop audit schedules, protocols, and compliance checklists

Implement audit recommendations and corrective action plans

Maintain audit documentation and reporting systems
Strategic Support and Executive Functions

Provide strategic support to executive leadership team

Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and coordinate executive meetings and prepare agendas

Handle confidential and sensitive information with absolute discretion

Serve as primary liaison between executives and internal/external vendors, team members, and commercial tenants

Track and compile property performance reports for executive review

Monitor and follow up on action items from executive meetings

Manage company Policy, Procedures, and Forms
Position Qualifications:
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Legal Studies, or related field preferred

5+ years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably in real estate or property management

Previous supervisory and leadership experience required
