Production Manager

The Production Manager will be responsible for leading the daily operation of production with responsibility for interacting with Safety, Security, Human Resources, Planning, Purchasing, Materials, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Facilities and other departments to achieve maximum quality and cost effectiveness in an on-time and efficient manner. This position is also responsible for daily order execution, workforce flexibility, productivity/efficiency, sequencing, process adherence, and training/development in production.

Main responsibilities:

• Lead all facets of supervision including workforce flexibility, staffing, employee onboarding and training/development, to include cross-training.
• Significant focus on ensuring accountability and corrective actions are taken to ensure adherence to expected safety, security and HR related policies and protocols.
• Lead all aspects of the plant by establishing goals and objectives for the business and manages the assets assigned to that value stream.
• Coach and mentor production supervisor team to improve engagement and to establish communication channels between the cross functional teams.
• Ensure a safe work place is provided for all employees. Implement and execute frequent department safety inspections and assures the accurate completion of all accident reports.
• Interview and monitor performance of employees for assigned area. Review and evaluate their needs and potential. Develop appropriate cross-training programs.
• Design and direct the work of the team. Select, coach and develop staff. Set clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. Manage performance and behaviors – recognizing achievement, providing feedback and administering progressive discipline when necessary.
• Ensure that key responsibilities are optimized to include daily order execution, productivity/efficiency, sequencing, and process adherence.
• Work closely with Planning, Purchasing and Materials Management and their teams to achieve SMART goals and KPI’s.
• Develop and challenge resources to improve performance through systems utilization and process improvements.
• Review the daily and weekly shipping schedules and production capabilities to determine how to employ people, equipment and tooling to execute sequence and expedite daily orders.
• Leads, implements and promotes a culture of respect, integrity and accountability

Minimal Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or Industrial Technology OR equivalent experience in the Operations function within a similar working environment;
• 5 years of progressive Operations management experience in similar work environment.
