Compensation: $95,000 - $110.000 DOE

Job Summary

The Richlawn Turf Food Production Manager (Washington) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fertilizer and soil production at our Pasco, WA manufacturing facility. This role involves managing personnel, optimizing production processes, ensuring product quality, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Manager plays a crucial role in driving operational efficiency, meeting customer demands, and fostering innovation in fertilizer and soil manufacturing.


Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and implement plans for fertilizer production operations
  • Lead and mentor a team of production supervisors and staff
  • Oversee production scheduling and inventory management for raw materials and finished products
  • Manage quality assurance processes to ensure products meet company and customer specifications
  • Implement and maintain safety protocols and regulatory compliance in production areas
  • Optimize production processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Collaborate with R&D and quality assurance teams on product development and improvement
  • Manage budgets and resource allocation for the fertilizer and soils department
  • Coordinate with logistics and sales teams to meet customer demands and delivery schedules
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in production methods and equipment utilization
  • Oversee maintenance and upgrades of production equipment
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and industry partners
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in fertilizer production, composting, pellet mill operations or related manufacturing fields.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of fertilizer production processes, including organic and synthetic products
  • Experience with production management software and quality control systems
  • Proven track record in implementing efficiency improvements and cost reduction strategies
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Certifications in production management or quality assurance
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices and market trends

Work Environment

This position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, requiring a balance of hands-on production floor presence and strategic management responsibilities. The role involves exposure to various production equipment and materials, necessitating adherence to safety protocols and use of PPE. Regular travel to production sites or industry events may be required. The Fertilizer Production Manager must be comfortable in both production and office settings, able to adapt to changing priorities, and capable of managing multiple aspects of operations simultaneously.
