Job Description1. Production Oversight
- Lead and supervise daily operations of the joinery workshop to ensure output meets quality standards and delivery timelines.
- Develop and monitor production schedules in collaboration with the Factory Manager.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices to optimize manpower, materials, and machine utilization.
- Identify bottlenecks in workflow and drive continuous improvements.
- Ensure safe and proper use of workshop equipment (CNC machines, panel saws, edge banders, etc.).
2. Project Execution & Coordination
- Plan and balance production capacity to meet project requirements and installation schedules.
- Coordinate closely with Project Manager, Site Supervisors, Engineers, and Design Teams to resolve technical or logistical issues.
- Review workshop drawings and clarify requirements to ensure compliance with client specifications.
- Liaise with procurement and logistics to ensure timely material flow.
3. Department Communication & Back-Office Alignment
- Act as the link between production and departments such as HR, Finance, Procurement, Planning, and Cost Control.
- Ensure all teams are aligned on production timelines and operational objectives.
- Support procurement in sourcing raw materials, hardware, and finishes.
4. Budget & Cost Management
- Support finance teams to control production costs and workshop expenditures.
- Monitor material usage, wastage, machinery downtime, and labor allocation.
- Assist in financial forecasting aligned with factory output.
5. Client & Stakeholder Interaction
- Serve as the main production point-of-contact for clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Lead production-related progress meetings and site visits.
- Build trust through clear communication, technical clarity, and timely updates.
- Coordinate external suppliers, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
6. Operational Excellence
- Drive initiatives in lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement.
- Introduce new technologies, tools, and process automation where beneficial.
- Promote a safety-first culture supported by internal SOPs and accountability.
7. Quality Assurance
- Implement rigorous quality control procedures across production and installation.
- Ensure compliance with technical drawings, material standards, and client expectations.
- Lead root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Oversee mock-ups, samples, and inspection approvals.
Requirements
- 5+ years of proven experience in production management within a joinery, woodworking, or fit-out environment.
- Strong understanding of joinery production processes, machinery, and materials.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and multiple job orders at once.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing/continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools; knowledge of AutoCAD or joinery software (Cabinet Vision, AlphaCAM, etc.) is an advantage.
