Job Purpose:
The Supervisor will oversee daily production functions of textile and tailoring unit of men’s traditional wear/suits to ensure premium quality, cultural authenticity, operational excellence, and efficient team management. The role requires expertise in textiles, tailoring, workflow supervision, fit + finish standards, and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities :
Team, Production & Operations Management
- Supervise and manage tailors, cutters, and production support staff across all stages of garment production
- Plan, monitor, and optimize daily production output, tailoring schedules, timelines, attendance, and task completion
- Ensure smooth workflow and coordination between cutting, stitching, finishing, pressing, and quality control teams
- Assign tasks on the production floor, track productivity, and mentor junior team members to improve efficiency
- Lead production teams while maintaining discipline, performance standards, and respect for cultural craftsmanship
Textile & Material Expertise
- Oversee the selection and effective utilization of fabrics across production
- Guide procurement teams on fabric quality, texture, durability, drape, and cultural suitability
- Monitor fabric consumption, waste control, cutting efficiency, and overall resource optimization
Tailoring & Technical Supervision
- Oversee measurements and fitting to ensure consistent fit standards
- Ensure master cutting aligns with approved patterns, collar styles, sleeve designs, cuff finishes, and stitching standards
- Review size accuracy, stitching precision, seam alignment, neckline, shoulder fit, and hem finishing
- Monitor alteration cycles, fit corrections, and adherence to delivery timelines
- Ensure final garment finish aligns with Emirati aesthetics (symmetry, crispness, shine, and minimal embroidery where applicable)
Quality Standards & Compliance
- Maintain high quality standards and approve garments prior to packaging or delivery
- Ensure consistency in fit, fall, cultural aesthetics, stitch quality, seam reinforcement, and material finishing
- Reject or recommend rework for garments that fail to meet quality benchmarks
- Conduct regular quality audits of cutter and tailor work
Stakeholder & Customer Coordination
- Coordinate closely with sales and client service teams to ensure accurate order execution
- Maintain strong working relationships with fabric suppliers, service partners, and internal departments
- Ensure customer expectations are met in terms of comfort, texture, design accuracy, and fit
- Prioritize and manage high-importance orders based on business and delivery deadlines
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed production records, size charts, order logs, and tailor performance reports
- Submit weekly and monthly production and quality reports
- Identify and report production or team-related bottlenecks with corrective recommendations
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or formal training in tailoring, textiles, garment production, or fashion (textile-focused preferred)
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in apparel supervision, cutting, or traditional garment production (Emirati wear preferred)
- Strong understanding of cutting techniques and tailoring patterns
- Knowledge of fabric types used in Middle Eastern traditional attire
- Good communication and team coordination skills
